Whitening

Everyone wants a dazzling white smile and why not? Your smile is the very first thing that anyone notices about you. However regardless of how well we care for our teeth, it is inevitable that overtime some yellowing or discolouration will occur. So then what are the ways in which you could bring back that extra sparkle in your smile?

At Maskati Dental Center we offer two whitening solutions that will fit into your life styles and give you that dazzling white smile-

    In-office whitening with ZOOM-

The advantage of having your teeth whitened in the dental office is that this approach is fast and produces dramatic results.

At Maskati Dental Center we provide Zoom whitenings, the world’s most trusted and efficient inoffice whitening system. In about one hour and thirty minutes, we will transform the colour of your smile.

Tooth shade charts are used during the consultation stage of treatment to establish your current shade and determine your whitening goal. In-office whitening is unique in this respect, as your dentist has more control over achieving your specific teeth whitening goals.

During your teeth whitening procedure, you are made comfortable while your teeth are prepared. Your dentist places a guard in your mouth to protect the lips and gums from a whitening gel that is applied to the teeth.

Application of the whitening gel occurs in two to three sessions over the course of the visit. A special lamp emitting blue light is used to activate the whitening gel and speed up the whitening process. Once the gel is activated, it remains on the teeth for 15-20 minutes until the next application. The whitening gel removes the deep stains while keeping the structure of the teeth unchanged.

    • Home Whitening Kits

    • The most effective at-home whitening systems use a prescription-strength gel kit available at the dental clinic. At Maskati Dental Center customized trays are made for you which can be used with the whitening gels to achieve optimum results. Application times vary greatly depending upon the product used. Wear times of 30-60 minutes, once or twice a day, are common; results are achieved within three days, but more commonly 5-10 days. Advantages of at-home products include cost and the ability to re-treat as needed. If you have used laser teeth whitening, home bleaching is an excellent way to maintain the brightness of your smile.

    • After Care Instructions-

    • In order to maximize the longevity of your whitening treatment, it is important to avoid food and drinks( coffee, tea, red wine) that could stain your teeth for about a week after whitening, as well as to refrain from smoking. We also advise you to maintain excellent oral hygiene.

    FAQ’S
    • Is tooth whitening bad for my teeth?
    • Tooth Whitening causes no permanent damage to the tooth enamel or any other tooth structure.
    • Does tooth whitening cause permanent tooth sensitivity?
    • Sensitivity from tooth whitening is always transient. That means if there is any sensitivity caused by the whitening, it goes away within one to two days after the treatment process.
    • Am I a candidate for teeth whitening?
    • Most people are candidates for teeth whitening but again each situation is different so it is best to contact your dental professional regarding this. In case of pregnancy and in young children professional whitening is not recommended.
    • How long does whitening last?
    • Typically you can expect whitening to last from six months to two years, although some studies report results lasting up to 10 years. Avoiding red wine, coffee, and smoking—all of which can cause staining—helps preserve the results.
    • Does tooth whitening effect veneers, crowns or fillings?
    • Tooth whitening has little or no effect on restorative materials such as porcelain crowns/Veneers or composite fillings. Hence if you have crowns or veneers on your front teeth it may be a good idea to replace them so that they match your newly whitened teeth!
    • Do toothpaste whiteners work?
    • Whitening toothpastes typically only clean surface stains and don’t actually change the color of the teeth. There may be some visible results but the teeth aren’t actually being whitened.
